Ishwaria Subbiah, MD, MS, FASCO, is a palliative care & integrative medicine physician and medical oncologist based in Nashville, TN. With over 16 years of progressive responsibilities in care delivery and access optimization across academic centers, research institutes, and community practice networks, Dr. Subbiah hold an extensive expertise in navigating complex health systems to implement enterprise-level programs.

Dr. Subbiah completed clinical fellowships in early phase Drug Development, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX), before joining the faculty and rising to Associate Professor. More recently, she has held leadership roles at MD Anderson and SCRI/US Oncology community practice network establishing enterprise-level programs in technology-enhanced supportive care, clinical trials access, and occupation wellbeing.

 

A 2024 National Academy of Medicine Change-Maker and ASCO Fellow, she serves as chair-elect for ASCO’s Health Services Research Committee, JCO OP Associate Editor, and US President’s Cancer Panel advisor. Her patient care, research, mentorship, and volunteerism all reflect her commitment to data-driven symptom management, clinical trials access, and workforce sustainability and wellbeing.
